Trump and RussiaGate - Greatest Miscarriage of Justice?
There is a great political and legal process being played out for all the world to see with the president of the United States and the Russian hacking of the US 2016 elections. No one knows what will happen but the tension and next steps have our nation on edge as we wonder will justice be served against Russia or a potentially complicit presidential campaign.
I'm trying to imagine what it would be like if all parties were simply found not guilty and walked away without penalty. This would seem like a great miscarriage of justice. Even the most ardent Trump/Russia supporters can see that there are anomalies and inconsistencies that warrant explanation.
Wiki says that a miscarriage of justice is punishing someone for a crime that they didn't commit and is often in reference to the death penalty. Reading my devotional today from Dwight Nelson, he astutely describes the greatest miscarriage of justice ever!
You see Romans 3:23 , 1 Kings 8:46 Ecclesiastes 7:20, all declare that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. And we also know that in Romans 6:23 the Bible asserts that the "wages of sin is death..." Our only hope is the actual greatest miscarriage of Justice.
An innocent man wrongly accused.
An innocent man rushed by the state to His execution.
But that is the essence of the gospel...God's amazing and senseless grace throwing open the gates of heaven to all of guilty humanity through the blood of Christ!
